The Cambridge Year 9 Checkpoint Examination is an external assessment set and marked by Cambridge International for students typically aged 11-14, at the end of the lower secondary programme (Stage 9), in English, Mathematics, and Science. Each year approximately 130 000 students participate in the Cambridge Year 9 Checkpoint Examinations. The examinations are designed to provide an international benchmark of student performance and diagnostic feedback on strengths and weaknesses before students progress to IGCSE, O Level or IB studies.
